Scary amendments to be on FL November ballot.

I have been wondering why we have heard nothing from the state Democrats on these issues. Or from the county or city Democrats for that matter. Most people don't go around looking up the amendments and studying them, and these are so bad there should be pushback.

They could change the state drastically for generations.

There are 12 mentioned in the article, so not sure why just eleven were referenced in the title.

Amendments 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, and 11 are part of the tea party/GOP effort to destroy government services and the quality of life by reducing revenue. They sound like compassionate efforts (reducing property tax, limiting growth in state revenue, increasing a business tax exemption). But the majority in the Legislature is not a bunch of do-gooders. Their sinister agenda needs to be stopped.

The article further mentions that Amendment 5 is a power grab of the courts by the legislature.

Amendment 6 is another effort to ban all abortions.

Until I found this article today, I had seen nothing else about all these amendments. They are so bad for the state that I would have expected to have mailings or emails on the topic.

I think the Tea Party and the GOP feel they're in the driver's seat in at least some states and they've decided that if they can't get it passed on the national level right now, they're going to start passing it in the states they think they can get it passed. Divide and conquer.

Forwarded the link to a dear friend in Ocala (I live in Maine)--she's upset about all the right-wing buffoonery down there.
I hope Floridians can see through these and soundly reject them.

That's a good description, buffoonery. We are surrounded by people who spout tea-party nonsense. Usually I avoid such confrontations, but now and then I let it rip over the stupidity.

I quoted some facts to someone the other day and said I had all kinds of proof I was right, did they want it? They said I was a liberal and a hater.

It's really sad what so much of FL has become.
