Tell Colbert, Maddow & Stewart that Jill Stein deserves air time!

Dear waiting for hope:

We're getting a lot more media attention as the campaign grows, but it's nothing compared to what Obama and Romney are getting - not surprisingly since they have enormous advertising budgets and since mainstream media is owned by the same coporations that own the two major parties.

Despite the uneven playing field, we will be heard.

In the coming weeks, we'll be sharing a variety of ways you can help us amplify our message and ensure the citizens of the United States are given the opportunity to hear from a candidate who has real solutions for moving this country forward.

So, let’s dive in with two easy ways to help today:

1. Make sure you’re connected to us! Since we don’t have a multi-million dollar budget for paid advertising like our competitors, social media is one of our best options for raising awareness. And, if you saw the impact it had first for the Howard Dean campaign, then the revolution in Egypt and the uprisings in Wisconsin and around the country - you know it’s an imperative force for advocacy. We need all of you with us everywhere you can be!

•YouTube http://www.youtube.com/user/JillStein2012?feature=watch

2. Help us get media coverage on three target outlets: The Colbert Report, The Daily Show, and The Rachel Maddow Show. These three sources could help us reach millions of sympathetic voters!

On Facebook - Leave a message on their walls, privately message them, comment on their posts - whatever it takes to get their attention (respectfully please!)

On Twitter (copy and paste - or create your own tweet!)
•PLEASE @StephenAtHome - have #Green Party #POTUS candidate @jillstein2012 on the @Colbertreport!
•Hey @TheDailyShow - how about having #Green Party #POTUS candidate @JillStein2012 on the show?
•Hey @maddow - how about having #Green Party #POTUS candidate @JillStein2012 on the show?

Thanks to everyone who's already been helping us with these efforts! Let's keep the pressure on!

And, thanks so much to all of you for your continued support Together, we can reclaim democracy!!

I LOVE this! I have waited forever to get an email like this. She's asking us to do something to help, which I really want to do, and there is no request for money anywhere in the email. I know they all need money for their campaigns, but it's really nice to have some emails not make it seem like the only thing they want you for is a donation.

The only other politician that I've received emails from is Sherrod Brown (I liked what he do for you), but every email I receive for him, he is asking for money - I know he's dealing with the Koch brothers and his campaign is a uphill battle, but the money he is asking for has a $500,000 limit. I don't know how he does it.

I sent e-mails just now.

I don't have Twitter or Facebook, so I couldn't do those, though I wish I could...

Thanks for the update!

Sherrod occasionally sends emails asking me to sign a petition and not asking for money, but signing a petition is not like actually doing something, as requested in this email. He is the number one target of the right wingers this year. He is being outspent something like 15 to 1. I so hope he manages to hang on. He's the only remaining Dem I support. He is a true liberal, and he helped me a lot when I needed it. The guy running against him is pond scum. He is our state treasurer. He got elected in 2010. He's been absent from his job most of the time since he's been elected because he's out campaigning.

I wish him luck but if it's anything like the primaries and his opponent is a Tea Partier, he's fighting a severe uphill battle.

People here say that if it weren't for all the money going to Mandel, Sherrod would be a shoe-in.

RE: Tell Colbert, Maddow & Stewart that Jill Stein ..
Either yesterday or today an interview with the moderate republican in the Kansas senate caught my eye. According to him the Tea Party money people decided to use Kansas as a testing ground. Three weeks before the election the moderates were ahead of the Tea Party opponents. That's when the Tea Party swept huge amounts of money in to pay for some ads that reportedly were extremely ugly and of the 22 moderate republicans running for office/re-election against Tea Party candidates, 17 lost.

Locally I know that the ads in Missouri were extremely ugly and they were non-stop during what seemed like every commercial break just before the vote during the primaries. I'm pretty much either watching dvd's or online sources like Hulu or Netflix.
