Campaign notes for Obama
Campaign notes for Obama
Okay, these are just some random thoughts and observations regarding Obama’s campaign so far. I am going to keep this as neutral as possible. In other words, I am not doing this to bash him, or even to be unduly critical, apart from where he might run his campaign a little differently. Extending the Bush tax cuts: What, is it July already? We go through this every year? Didn’t he tell us last year that he would finally let the Bush tax cuts expire? This is a branding nightmare and typifies every thing that is wrong with triangulation. If he wants to keep the tax cuts for the poor and middle class, fine, I don’t oppose that. But he needs to decuple them from the Bush tax cuts as well as from the wealthy. We have already seen this particular play work it self out. Republicans will hold the middle and lower class tax cuts hostage in order to keep their tax cuts on the wealthy. Obama needs to craft a replacement tax package that he can put his name on it. This would also give him a sharper arrow he can use against Republicans and Mitt Romney’s catering to the rich. Submit the Obama Middle Class tax cut package late in the game, then let the Bush tax cut extension expire so that the Obama tax cut plan is the only thing on the table. Then watch the Republicans scream about it while digging their political hole just that much deeper. Taking on the myths of the free market

Why is Obama being attacked for Republican Screw-ups? (Sequestration)
If you have read my blog for any length of time, you would know that I only want to hang Obama for that which he is guilty of. But as bad as Obama is, it’s the bat-shit crazy Republicans that will still bury America. And this looks like it is a case in point.
It’s called “sequestration”. With the last major budget blowout, Republicans insisted on a kind of budget failsafe that would kick in if we don’t reduce the deficit. And that was a massive raft of across the board spending cuts on the military. It’s intended to motivate both Republicans and Democrats to cut spending and get the budget under control. And while Obama did have a role in bringing this monster to life, this is still mostly John Bonaire’s baby. And from the very beginning we knew that no good could come from this. As one critic put it, sequestration is basically holding the nations economy hostage for the soul purpose of aiding Republicans forcing the government to commit economic suicide. So why is Obama still getting the blame? Well, okay, we know why. Because the mediea works for the Republican party, and they sure is heck are not going to lay this back at the feet of Bonier. The real question is, why is Obama NOT fighting back? Taking on the myths of the free market

RE: Campaign notes for Obama
I don't think it's in him to fight back, Code. I really don't. I could be wrong but everything I've seen makes me think he's someone who just floats through life and takes the easy way out every chance he gets. No fuss, no muss. Doesn't care enough about anything to fight for it. That's how I see Obama.

RE: Campaign notes for Obama: The hypocracy card
Obama has every right to demand Romney publishes his tax records. All he has to do is remind Republicans that they demanded that he publish his birth certificate - the long form - notarized by the Governor.
