Ernest Borgnine dies aged 95

He won an Oscar in 1955 for Marty. My news alert from the NY Times says he was 95, but also says he was 96. So, he was really old. When I was a really little kid, my dad had a friend who looked just like him, and I thought they were the same guy. I can't remember that guy's name anymore. He's probably gone, too. That was during McHale's Navy. He had quite a career, appearing in tons of movies and TV shows. He never retired, and even has a movie yet to be released. Not bad for 95, or 96. The article doesn't say what he died of. I can only assume he felt pretty good up until the end since he was still working. He was married 5 times, but the last one stuck. He married Tova in 1973. His shortest marriage was in 1964 to Ethel Merman and it lasted less than a couple weeks.

As did I. He was a first tier character actor. Even iconic.

He looked remarkably well, way into his later years. Some people, as they age, don't look like their former selves. He looked like Ernest Borgnine well into his 90's.
