I've seen cases where the states are much more motivated to prosecute banksters.

Hope is neither a strategy or a method of birth control.

Re: Feds lose control over Mortgage Investigations.
Someone please explain this to me. It sounds like a terrible settlement, but apparently there are still other investigations ongoing. I guess this doesn't interfere with what the state AGs are doing.

U.S. bank regulators announced settlements on Wednesday with the largest home lenders over allegations of shoddy foreclosure practices, but the pacts did not include financial penalties.

<snip>

The bank regulators said their probe found a series of problems including servicers filing affidavits in court where an employee vouched for personally knowing the details to be true when they did not.
The banks neither admitted or denied the findings.

<snip>

How important is the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency? Is this a sign of things to come? I sure hope not.

From the article Andrea just posted:

Um, isn't that perjury or something?

Wouldn't be surprised if that detail gets buried in later versions of this story.

Well, if we ran the entirety of society like the way the Obama administration runs law enforcement on the banking sector, the best business to be in would be knocking over 711s.

Hope is neither a strategy or a method of birth control.
