I've seen cases where the states are much more motivated to prosecute banksters.

Someone please explain this to me. It sounds like a terrible settlement, but apparently there are still other investigations ongoing. I guess this doesn't interfere with what the state AGs are doing.

Um, isn't that perjury or something?

Wouldn't be surprised if that detail gets buried in later versions of this story.
